Losing streak ends




The Oilers losing streak ended Saturday afternoon as they played the Mid Michigan Storm at the I.C.E. Arena.

In a very physical, hard fought game that was marred by 11 minor penalties including 6 taken by the home team, the Oilers were able to fight back from an early defecit and end there four game losing streak.

After the 1st period ended with the Storm up 1-0, the Oilers were resilient and came out in the 2nd with all guns blazing.

Junior nick Coscarelly opened the scoring with assists going to Dan Pulver and Jess McDevitt-Irwin. Sophomore Evan Huber added an unassisted goal and Coscarelly netted his 2nd of the game with another helper going to McDevitt-Irwin and Nathan Pittsley. The second period ended with the Oilers holding a 3-2 lead.

The 3rd period was one of the most spirited periods played all year and Freshman goalie was up for the challenge stopping all 6 shots he saw. McDevitt-Irwin added an unassisted goal to go with his two earlier assists and Mt. Pleasant finished off the 4-2 victory improving to 2-4.

They will travel to Okemos next week on the 21st.
